排列成層的叫子實(shí)層，其中常有不育細(xì)胞結(jié)構(gòu)，那些比擔(dān)子長(zhǎng)而大、形狀多種多樣的叫囊狀體，那些形如擔(dān)子但比擔(dān)子小的叫小擔(dān)子。有的擔(dān)子菌具有壁厚色深的剛毛。雙核在擔(dān)子中合并為雙相核，經(jīng)減數(shù)分裂，形成4個(gè)單相核，頂端生出4個(gè)小梗，小梗上生出4個(gè)擔(dān)孢子，各有1個(gè)單相核。也有生出1個(gè)、兩個(gè)或多個(gè)擔(dān)孢子的。也有作分叉狀分裂或生橫隔的擔(dān)子，叫做異擔(dān)子或半擔(dān)子。典型擔(dān)子無隔圓形或棒形，叫同擔(dān)子或無隔擔(dān)子。擔(dān)孢子斜生在小梗的頂端，與小梗接觸處有突起，叫臍突，成熟時(shí)此處分泌一滴水珠，一般認(rèn)為與孢子放射有關(guān)。經(jīng)超顯微觀察，有的說是小梗細(xì)胞壁的延長(zhǎng)生長(zhǎng)，其中充滿液體，但也有的說不是液體而是氣體，因氣體爆炸而放射擔(dān)孢子。無性生殖編輯擔(dān)子菌的無性生殖是通過菌絲斷裂產(chǎn)生粉孢子、分生孢子或孢子芽殖，沒有有性器官，但也有人說銹菌的性孢子器和受精絲是有性器官。
